Sponge
About Sponge
Sponge is a research workspace growing into a generative encyclopedia. Human curiosity sets the direction. AI helps search, connect, and synthesize. Evidence and human review determine what endures.
Wikipedia gave knowledge a shared public page. Sponge extends that idea toward pages that can be composed for a new question, level of explanation, or point in time while retaining the evidence-bearing knowledge beneath them.
The durable object is the path: identities that survive renaming, statements that retain context, assertions that remain attributable, evidence that can disagree, and editions that preserve their own history.
Intelligence under human judgment
Sponge uses AI to widen the field of view while keeping judgment, publication, and stewardship human responsibilities. Curiosity steers. Evidence precedes fluency. Disagreement remains. Agents search, structure, compare, and challenge. People accept, reject, and publish.
Versioned rich documents, loss-aware Markdown, graph-native citations, the seven-concept ontology kernel, durable Inquiries, human proposal review, supported editions, and release-gated public /k views are active in Production.
